All my other NETBIOS machines resolve fine and this is really bugging the heck out of me.īoard: Supermicro X10SRL-F with Intel Xeon E5-2667 v4 3.2GHz, 128GB RAMĬase: Supermicro SC826BE1C-R920LPB 3U 12-bay with BPN-SAS3-826EL1 backplane ![]() i am stunned that completely reinstalling everything has not fixed it. i had the shares working previously, but somehow it all got messed up. i unmounted and wiped all drives and everything. i completely rebooted and reinstalled freenas on my machine after mucking around with permissions and screwing everything up with jails and etc. But if I try to connect to \\192.168.1.100\documents (the location of the share), i get prompted to enter the login: password of the freenas user i created in the earlier steps and it works fine.Ī little background. I get the old "Windows cannot access \\FREENAS" message. I got all the way up to step 5 but when i goto Network in Win7, i cannot open my FREENAS computer icon. ![]() So i'm trying to setup freenas CIFS share. ![]() Newbie to freenas here, i am pulling my hair out on this one. ![]()
